Proteins are large molecules consisting of 20 different types of amino acids. The unique shape determines the function of each protein. Proteins consist of specific amino acid sequences. The polypeptide chain coils and folds into a unique shape due to hydrogen bonding between amion acids. The three dimentional shape of a protein forms spontaneously as a result of attractions/repulsions between the amino acids within the protein.
